The Country Representative of Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Vietnam (RLS), Ms. Nadja Charaby, and the Director of the Institute of Scientific Socialism of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Pham, solemnly signed a Project Agreement on 7 June, 2011. The Institute for Scientific Socialism is providing research and analysis on socialism including social policies for different groups (ethnic minorities, women, workers, etc.) and its meanings for Vietnam’s recent and future development. This year RLS and the Institute will start this new co-operation with a workshop on “Rosa Luxemburg’s thoughts on the workers’/laborers’ movement and its implications in the current context of workers/laborers in Germany and Vietnam”.
By providing international expertise RLS wishes to support the endeavors of the Institute in increasing its scientific and methodological knowledge regarding the research of the labor movement and the current situation of workers in Vietnam. By exchanging ideas and experiences on the approaches and thoughts of Rosa Luxemburg the workshop will offer an opportunity to study the labor movement in the context of globalization and international integration in Germany and Vietnam.
At the signing ceremony both sides expressed their sincere wishes to successfully begin this co-operation at to explore further chances for common projects in the future.
